A group had their evening cut short after Police were called to reports of an incident on Sunday.
Counties Manukau Central Area Commander, Inspector Adam Pyne, says Police were notified of a vehicle believed to be stolen travelling on Ti Rakau Drive just before 11pm.
¡°Police attempted to spike the vehicle, however the vehicle fled the area at speed.
¡°At this stage, Eagle was responding to the area and provided overhead observations as the vehicle travelled towards Manurewa.¡±
Shortly after, the vehicle was located abandoned on Great South Road.
Inspector Pyne says further enquiries located four youths at a nearby address.
¡°The group, aged between 12 and 17, was taken into custody without incident.
¡°They have all since been referred to Youth Aid.¡±
Enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what has occurred and Inspector Pyne says it was incredibly lucky no-one was injured during this incident.
¡°This is another example of some great Police work in holding offenders to account while keeping our community safe.¡±
